What to tell/ask them when getting makeover done professionally?

I’m getting a free makeover at the beauty/makeup section at a department store. I have really sensitive skin that sometimes has minor allergic reactions to makeup (I don’t know what it is specifically that causes them). I’m getting a makeover because prom is coming up and I want to find a look. Plus, it’s really hard as a non-white person to find suitable makeup and I’ll be given samples. What are some things that I should ask/tell the person who will be doing my makeup?

Answer
I would tell them about your skin being sensitive and if you have reactions and know what they are from I would tell them that. I am sure that they will ask you a few questions before they start like is your skin oily or dry or do you break out easily ….and things like that….Then I would tell them what dress you are wearing ..and if you could take your dress it would be easier for them to be able to match a good color and not clash by using the same color as the dress. If their are flaws in your face or if there is something you have trouble doing (makeup wise ) then I would ask them for any tips or tricks and Please don’t be afraid to speak up if they are putting something on you that you don’t like ….tell them….that is their job to make you look and feel beautiful so don’t be afraid to say I don’t like something even if they keep saying they like it. And also a good tip is to ask them for a mirror or bring a compact with you and go outside and look at the makeup too…..Different lighting makes your makeup look different …..
